Seth's mom arrived exactly on time (as usual) to pick them up from the hospital. After a polite introduction, Seth held the car door open for Abagail before hopping in too. He noticed that his mother looked uncomfortable for some reason. He threw her a questioning look and she nervously told him that Charlie Swan wanted to have dinner.

"It's not formal or anything. The man just wants some company is all." Seth was happy that his mom wasn't so lonely anymore. After giving Abagail a questioning look to wordlessly ask permission, Seth spoke up. "That's alright Mom. You can just drop us off at Emily and Sam's house. I cancelled on them last week anyways, so they'll be happy to see me. And I know they want to meet Abagail too. I'll just give them a call before we get there." With that said, Seth flipped open his phone, and called the house, getting Emily. She sounded excited to meet Abagail and promised to make dinner for them both. "The pack will all be there too."

Seth was sure that Sam and Emily would love her. They would just have to be more careful than usual about their secret; no biggie. Abagail couldn't be allowed to find out. Teenage girls could blackmail over stupid things, things way less important than the pack's safety. The vehicle pulled up outside Emily and Sam's house. It looked like an ordinary house on the outside, but inside was more like a cottage; open and airy.

"I didn't know you played guitar." Seth knew that the surprise in his voice was obvious, but he couldn't help it. Maybe she was better off than he thought, if she had a guitar. "Sure, no problem." As they exited the vehicle Seth thanked his mother, who looked flattered by Abagails manners. She waved through the windshield as she drove out the driveway. "I'm almost sixteen." He said in answer of Abagail's question.

Seth thanked Abagail for the pin and put it into his pocket. It would look good on his backpack, where he could look at it all day long at school. It was so infuriating when Abagail just ran off. Seth sighed to himself and rolled his eyes. "There she goes again." There was a second of silence and then a clap of thunder. "Uh oh. That doesn't sound good." Abagail had already disappeared, but Seth stayed on the porch, waiting for her to come back. As she came back onto the porch (with all her belongings it seemed!) Seth thought that she looked like a wet mess. "Emily will let you clean up once we're inside. But first I just want to give you a heads up that the guys well, they can be . . rowdy sometimes." Seth hoped that she would take it in stride, because if she didn't they would give her a hard time.

Embry opened the door, gave a "Wazzup dog!", thumped Seth on the back and then checked Abagail out. "Come on in, and let me help you with those! Seth! What kind of a gentleman are you, making her carry her own bags!" He was laughing as he spoke and easily took all of Abagails things inside, gesturing them to follow as he did so. "Here we go." Seth said resignedly.

Pulling her inside the house, Seth moved closer to whisper in her ear. He had to lean a little because he was taller than she was. "That's Embry. He's a friend of mine. Like a brother." Noting her expression when he talked about cleaning up, Seth figured she didn't want to and shrugged. Seth let Embry struggle with the bags while he took Abagail's hand and led her into the kitchen. There were several people bustling around, and the first to come over and introduce themself was Emily. "This is Emily, Abby. Emily, meet my friend Abagail." He was glad that everything was going so well.

Sam came over next, and Seth straightened automatically like a soldier lining up before his general. Nudging Abagail forward, Seth introduced them next. "Sam, Abby. Abby, Sam." Releasing her hand to let her look around on her own, Seth moved over to greet the other guys, pounding fists with and slapping the backs of the other people around the table. Once that was over, Seth took a glance back to see how Abagail was adjusting to everything. This house was fast paced by most people's standards, so he couldn't even imagine what it must seem like to her.
